The Auchenglen is in the Clyde Valley and can be accessed from Braidwood in Carluke. Walk down the Auchenglen Road - this road has suffered from subsidence and most of it is closd to traffic. This makes it a safe road for walkers - although it might end up closed to walkers if some work is not carried out to protect it from further subsidence.
This road is situated in beautiful countryside and connects to Crossford, in the old parish of Carluke. There are several garden centres in the area which are well worth a visit. The climb back up the Auchenglen road is steep in places, but not too difficult. Be careful, however, if you have not done much walking for a while.
